It is with great appreciation to Ernie Lorandeau for his years of leadership that BluEdge announces his retirement. Ernie is a well-respected 50-year veteran of the reprographics industry. He started his career trimming prints at Miller Blueprint as an 18-year-old, working part-time while going to college. At one time or another Ernie has worked at just about every position in the repro industry from production to sales to manager to owner.

In 1980 he established one of the industry’s first computer graphic service bureaus which was groundbreaking at the time.  Ernie’s years of experience were put to good use when he started Bay State Reprographics in 1991. He and his wife Gail became a reprographics staple in the Greater Boston AEC community.

He was one of the original board members of ReproMAX, established as the premier global network of independent reprographers.

Ernie has been instrumental in the development of the Managed Print Services offerings for the Boston market. This included not only print devices but also placing labor and implementing Print Tracking. This enabled the AEC firms to streamline their billing practices making this more profitable for both the company and the customer.  Ernie was always at the forefront of cutting-edge technology constantly adding new services to the industry. He was an early adopter for the Online Planroom as well as the only company in the Northeast installing the state-of-the-art Cruse camera for high-end scanning. In 2006 Bay State Reprographics was purchased by NRI (now known as BluEdge) with Ernie staying on as Regional Manager and continuing the high level of service and professionalism he has always had his entire career. Since then, Ernie has been very involved in managing LINK, and will continue to work on a consulting basis with LINK.

We are indebted to Ernie’s vision and commitment to BluEdge and we wish him the best of luck in his retirement.
